Breast Cancer is a disease that more than 2 million women worldwide are diagnosed with each year. Breast cancer awareness month was first introduced in 1985, and its goal was to promote mammography as the most effective tool in the fight against breast cancer.
October was chosen as the breast cancer awareness month to promote regular screening before the holidays as during those times each year health is the least of anyone’s concerns.
